The eleven companies and associations that make up to GDST Secretariat include:
In addition, World Wildlife Fund (WWF) and the Institute of Food Technologists (Global Food Traceability Center) — the two NGOs responsible for organizing and facilitating the GDST — also hold seats on the Steering Committee. The Steering Committee is co-chaired by the representatives of Metro AG and WWF. The composition of the Steering Committee reflects the diversity and strength of the GDST itself, including members from Asia, Europe, and the Americas, and from across the seafood supply chain.
Today, the Secretariat is engaged in promoting the uptake of the GDST standards, providing technical implementation support, managing multiple partnerships with other industry platforms and associations, addressing relevant policy and regulatory issues, and curating the technical standards themselves.
